It is call 洛神花。Is that fresh ones or dried ones? Looks like fresh ones. U bought that in JB? I cant get fresh ones in SG oni dried ones. I bought a pot of it during CNY this year but withered after CNY over, very sad.
U wanna use it to make enzyme, must ferment 3 weeks with wild honey, u know hor...but i think must remove the seeds? quite difficult leh...actually u can plant...there are alot wild rosella plants in Malaysia and they are very big ones...see already very "siok"
Yes this is fresh one. According to the seller, this is from Arab 的品种。One uncle plant it himself and sell to the shop. I bought it at RM5.00 /kg It's really a big one, big like the kiwi fruit ler!
Yes i took out the seed and try to plant it too but dunno can grow or not. Infact i bought 2 kg one kg for making enzyme and one kg to make the ribena drink. A bit sour n hv to put more sugar then only taste like the ribena. So i think the ribena that sell in the supermarket is really add in a lot of sugar.
I think it's not so commonly get in Sg and even in MY also not so common unless u go to those "kampung" where they plant it for themselve usage.
Thanks for reminding me, i will ferment it for 3 weeks n see how much enzyme i can get. I use wild honey to make it too. Today is 5th day already and the juice is only 1/5 of the bottle and can't even cover the fruit at all.I will try to take the pic after the 3 week n post here.
I also saw this before,last time my aunt use it to make ribena to drink.But it's taste different from the orginal ribena...hahaha after drink this all our mouth become red in colour...just like after sucking somebody blood...吸血鬼。。。
Ya.....really become all red. My hand all red when i take off the seed. Agreed with u that it taste totally diff from the actual ribena but if u really add in lots sugar it will taste about the same. So i think better dun let yr kids drink too much of ribena too cos i believe it really contain a lot of sugar.
but i think the ribena drink is not make from this rosella leh, it is bec it looks like rebena, thats y people name it after ribena, they dont know the correct term for it rosella...
